Jaakkovw 0
I bought new con rod bearings to my golf but they look bit different than originals. There is not that nail which prevents rolling of the bearing and theres hole in bottom of bearing. My golf is not vr6 but i think vw would have used same kind of bearings in many models and you would had same problem. My golf is 1.6 AEE motor. New bearings are Glyco 01-3867/4 STD and saler and importer told me that it replaces that VW 032 701 C bearing. I search internet and found many catalogs which say that Glyco 01-3867/4 STD replaces VW 032 701 C bearing. Does anybody replaced original bearings by those Glyco bearings?picture of original bearinghttp://s640.beta.photobucket.com/user/Jaakko_01/media/IMG_3735_zpsf1819aa3.jpg.html?sort=3&o=75picture of new bearinghttp://s640.beta.photobucket.com/user/Jaakko_01/media/IMG_3730_zps5ac385fc.jpg.html
matty.vrt 120
I would always use Vw bearings its not a area you should scrimp your motor it being the hart of the car. Plus there like £7 each not exactly big bucks. The 701c has been superseded by the 701d and just lately the 701e the current bearings available from Vw these are realy good there made out of 3 different metals and are Teflon coated for low friction. Jaakkovw 0
It is true that original bearings would be better choice but it wasn't answer to my question. What is the difference between 701C, 701D and 701E? Are 701D and 701E with or without that nail? I want know is that nail compulsory but I haven't found pictures about newer 701D and 701E bearings? If newer original bearings doesn't have the nail I could use Glycos bearings without nail. I have already changed the bearings but I want answer to my question before I start the engine? So does anyone have pictures or knowledge about newer VW bearings?
