induction kit, wires/sensor

Recommended Posts

Recently got a vr6 highline, it had a cheap cone filter.

The breather pipe was left hanging!

So ive found the correct k&n, this has a pipe to connect the breather but allso has a vw sensor fitted to it.

This sensor, wots it for? Temp?

Does it connect to the plug on the top of the breather, the cold start valve thingy.

Ill take a pic in the morning.

Thanks.

Pretty sure that is a dummy plug mate that appears to plug in the breather :)

Hi, do you mean the infamous PCV valve? Top left corner of crankcase into concertina (PCV) then into plastic intake before throttle? If so then Pete is right, looks like a sensor but isn't, I haven't blanked mine and don't know the pro's and cons are but some people use a catch can, it basically passes excess gas from crankcase back into intake to reduce emissions.

Regards

Steve
