VR6Pete 1,455
Hi All,I've been busy testing new bits on the website, I've never been 100% happy with how new forum posts are displayed, so I've knocked up the following: Would be good to have some feedback and if you think it should be added as a "New Forum Posts" link:Here is the URL to the test page! http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/onlineinfo_menu/new.phpCheeers Pete
Nex 17
Im not sure about the look of that buddy, if you could perhaps make the white bit transparent so it has the forum background it may look better imo. I realise that the current setup has a white square background too, I just think it may look good with the red text on the black tiled backing maybe with the little date/time of post in white text, if you are going to keep that info on there? (l see its not on the test layout and to be fair its not massively important) However the info given and functionality are good from the little play l had
Woodyman84 3
looks well layed out and good that u can see last replied and posted by
michael5556 247
Doesn't all fit on mobile page... But looks a bit too spaced out now. Where as before was too squashed together lol
Daverse 175
I think the thread section and the thread title could be swapped over, so it keeps everything a bit neater to the eye. Just cant win eh pete?

VIW28 29
Sorry Pete, I was going to say what Michael said!
VIW28 29
Is there no way it an be listed as topics replied to, rather than all the individual posts? I think that is partly the problem, there's too much to fit on, especially when viewing from mobile web.
VR6Pete 1,455
rahh! getting it to fit on the mobile site is an easy job - just need to fiddle the style sheets.... not 100% what you mean Gethin aout the topics replied too rather than individual posts? Daverse 175
Think he means instead having two items on the list being the same thread but with posts from different users, just having the latest single thread post for that thread. if that makes sense? for what its worth i prefer it the old way
VR6Pete 1,455
Still don't understand because on here - http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/onlineinfo_menu/new.php there are no duplications, only a post summary
VIW28 29
Might be best if i explain it in pictures? Here's a screenshot of what happens on GTINI for example, this applies to both new posts since last visit or new posts on last 24hrsNotice how it only displays the topics that have been replied to regardless of how may replies each topic has had? ...As opposed to every single post being listed.Does that make any more sense? VIW28 29
In saying that ^ though that is actually how it is in the new link Pete?
Daverse 175
'Whats New' link and 'Recent Activity' link seem to display differently?
VR6Pete 1,455
'Whats New' link and 'Recent Activity' link seem to display differently? That's because they are 2 different function Whats New = What's New since you last logged in Recent Activity = All recent items, not just new items since you last logged in.
