jayeshjethwa 0
Hi guys ive been having problems with my VR and its getting really annoying now after taking it to 3 different garages. The car drives fine for the first five mins but after there is some sort of hesitation when i put my foot down it feels like the power is restricted. Also after having this problem its been drinking alot of petrol and its been giving me 11.5 MPGSo far the plugs, Air flow mass, injectors have been changed and its had a full service.anyone has any ideas what it can be??? russj249 2
Has the engine coolant temp sensor been checked? These are common to play up, it might be tricking the ECU in thinking its cold etc. Ideally you need it plugged into VCDS and have the sensor values checked.
VR6Pete 1,455
As above, this is realistically the only thing to check after what you have had done already...just try unplugging it, if there is no change in the idle and power delivery there is your issue if you don't have access to VCDS
UnitedMotorsport 55
As above' date=' this is realistically the only thing to check after what you have had done already...[/quote']Other than the intake temperature sensors and the lambda probe. Is the car OBD1 or 2?You really need to get the car plugged into VAG COM by somebody that knows what they are looking at, this will reveal the problem. jayeshjethwa 0
The car is an OBD2 mate
UnitedMotorsport 55
Unplug the lambda probe, and see if it reacts the same.
Woodyman84 3
Vag com be the answer here. But also where the maf etc New.or used parts. Reason I asked is because I replaced mine an it turned out to be another dud
Woodyman84 3
Oh an also the reason it drives fine for first 5 mins will be because it's running q warm up map until engine is up to temp I believe
jayeshjethwa 0
Still haven't had the time to connect up to a VAG COM but I've been driving the car abt and like I sed before the car is fine wen it's cold but wen that temp gauge starts to move towards the middle that's wen I get the problems! All parts that were fitted are new including the maf and also forgot to mention a new coil pack! ssaunders 199
Hi, I have had loads of over fuelling issues that didn't flag on vag com and after changing every thing it was a thermostat issue.Apologies if you have checked this, my last 3 post replies have been all the same to same sort of issues, over fuelling, garage's have no clue they change all the sensors and scratch their heads, if you have checked and changed everything then it's back to basics, and the stat is basic of basic. If your going to change it I would suggest to get the plastic cover as well as the stat as 15-20 year old VW plastic is crap. Just changed my crack pipe at 120K and it fell apart, did stat and housing last year same rubbish plastic and solved my probs after new 2nd lambda, coolant temp sensor and MAF. If your near I have spare MAF and vagcom.CheersSteve
