Al J 0
Wondering if i can pick a few people's brains:Just fitted some 17's on, with some 205/40/17 tyres. At high speed (over 70 - gasp) i am getting a lot of buffeting through the steering wheel. I dont feel like its out of control, just that i may lose my fillings in my teeth after a few hours on the motorway! Is what i'm experiencing due to the lower profile tyres absorbing less shock from the road, or are there any other problems that these symptons are indicating? andy 0
Yeah, get the geometry checked, proper four wheel allignment is needed to set a golf up properly. Bad wheel balance will only cause a vibration that appears at certain speeds, not really buffeting as you put it :-)
