golfmad 0 Posted April 4, 2013 Report Share Posted April 4, 2013 hi guys ive taken the rear beam of my mk 2 gti and of my vr6 cause im doin vr6 con into my mk 2 and found that vr6 beam dosent have the bracket for the compansater valve as it was abs and i cant b arsed to chop the bracket of my mk 2 rear beam and weld it on so im stickin my mk 2 beam bk on but ive been told the rear bushes r an arse to change is this true as its no point me putting it bk on without new bushes so need sum advice plz i do have a compltete kit to remove rear bushes etc what i paied 300 pound for so is it just as simple to do a mk 2 1 as the same as other cars. sedge 7 Posted August 19, 2014 Report Share Posted August 19, 2014 I second the poly bush option, replaced mine not long ago and the poly bushes just slide in nicely!As for getting the old ones out, I used a saw to cut the metal sleeve running through the middle and a slice in the bush then used a big hammer and chisel to persuade them out.If you have the axel off anyway I would definately replace them!
