alexbmx 0
Been doing some work on my car lately whilst its off the road and spotted a bit of what i thought was surface rust behind where the air filter box sits, so i proceeded to put the wire wheel in the drill to clean it up and was going to paint it but as i touched it the wire wheel went straight through (turns out it was a lot worse that i thought) and this is what it looked likeso next i needed to investigate further so out came the arch liner and removed the coilover, peeled off the underseal, wasnt looking too good at this point did some more work with the wire wheel and this is what i foundas you can imagine i was getting pretty emotional by this point!now my questions are, where do i go from here?do i repair all the damamge by plating etc?or do i replace the turret (can you buy a replacement item?)has anyone experienced this before?thanks in advance
VR6Pete 1,455
Ouch. Looks like its gone on the seam. I think I'd just be tempted plate it, can imagine its a big job to do the turret, and probably not cost effective!
michael5556 247
Just grind away the rust and plate it. Easiest way I think.
