Lukey. 381
This will likely be an immobiliser fault did you transplant the ignition ring etc?
VR6Pete 1,455
Easiest thing is to delete the Imobiliser function from ECU. Call Stealth Racing and post them the ECU to get it sorted, they did mine after I upgraded to OBD2. Would love see some photos and hear more about your project!!
UnitedMotorsport 55
We can remove the immobiliser from your ECU if that is what it turns out to be.Easiest way to tell if it is the immobiliser is to read the fault codes from the ECU in the car.If you see the fault code "Engine start blocked by immobliser" then that is indeed the problem, If you don't then there is some other problem. I would hate for you to waste your money having the immobiliser turned off if it isn't the fault. 2/3 Seconds sounds too long for it to be an immobiliser fault, but you never know, thats why its best to check the faults codes before you presume something.Be careful who you choose to carry out work on your ECU, This is something we find regularly after ~someone else has carried out their 'work.' Needless to say it caused many problems and found its way to the bin.If it is the fault drop us an email
vr6buggy 0
Hi,thanks for the response. In answer to some of the questions,i have tranfered the whole loom including steering colomn with the key reader round the ignition switch and the black box it goes to.I think i have got this wired correctly(but i may be wrong if someone knows exactly where each wire goes i can rule that out).I have scanned codes and nothing is coming up about immobiliser, the only one i do get sometimes is 00688 which says battery power term 3 according to scan tool i am using. The strange thing also is if you get on the throttle once it has fired you can keep it running albeit at half throttle and running roughly and backfiring sometimes through air filter.I cant help but feel its something i havent wired back up properly. Woodyman84 3
I had that battery terminal fault fairly often when my car kept stalling so that may not indicate anything particular just so u know
