VR hunting and vibrations but only around 1500 RPM

Recommended Posts

While i was checking out fault codes etc on the VR i noticed that at around 1500rpm the revs hunt up and down, kinda like a little misfire. and when the revs dip there is a fairly harsh vibration.

it idles perfectly smooth and above 2k it doesnt seem to be that bad but maybe just less noticible

No fault codes and i recently replaced MAF with a brand new one

any suggestions welcome

Ill also be linking a video shortly (no sound tho sorry)

(sorry assuming you are OBD2 here) If you have had disconnected the battery, and didn't allow the throttle to perform it's own adaptation when you put ignition on axillary) then that might not help :) you can do it on VAG-COM, only takes a minute, so worth a shot, presume you have re-seated your HT leads etc... when were your plugs last changed?

Had.to do.the.chicken dance as my Fisher price vcds doesn't let me do tb alignment. Took battery off put back on, left in ignition stage for 5 mins, checked there where no fault codes.

Does seem to feel alot smoother under load. I'll get someone to do a proper tb alignment at rr day :-)
