vr6yan 0
Hello, ive got a couple of problems with my corrado following the winter rest that I was hopeing someone might be able to shed some infomation on. 1st is that over the winter the active rear spoiler has stopped popping up at 60mph automatically, you can still move it by the switch manually but nothing automatically. 2nd is that over the winter the fuel filler point has become very rusty where you screw your filler cap onto and requires replacing, I didnt know if this is a part that can be found or if anyone has one there willing to sell and also is it better to get a fuel tank and neck as it will prob just leak after ive messed around with it. There only minor problems but I'll need to sort the fuel one before the mot. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you
VR6Pete 1,455
Hey mate, I have the same problem with spoiler, I tried replacing the spoiler module that sits behind the dash by the switch but it still isn't playing ball... I do have another engine speed sensor fault stored in the ECU which may or may not be related, but taking it stealth on the 21st so it can be fixed as I'm out of ideas. I'll probably have a spare speed controller module if you wanted to test after then? Ill feedback what the fix was for me when I go down Stealth. As for your tank filler rust, got a photo? It's very strange, did you not fully screw the cap on? Or had moisture in your tank? Never known that before, only heard and seen (afraid on my own corrado) very bad rust around the filler neck on the actual body..
Lukey. 381
The tank and filler neck is moulded plastic one piece on golf, corrado probably is too.
vr6yan 0
Hopefully this works This is what ive got and hopeing to sort out. ive got a funny feeling the drain away has got blocked and on the rare occation the british weather did rain it caused it to get a little damp. Any ideas or info would be great. On the spoiler if you could let me know if you find anything out when you go stelth that would be great, i have heard of them breaking before and it would be nice to get it going again as it is a nice trick bit of the car.Any other ideas would be great,Cheers
VR6Pete 1,455
Wowsers, that's pretty bad, and not something you can easily clean up without risking it dropping into your fuel tank, unless you can devise a method of sealing the neck ? Probably just going to be easier to replace and, as said its bonded to the tank, not a bad job to drop the tank, you'll might want to consider a new fuel filter and inspecting your fuel tank straps as they generally rotten after so long....Yes buddy, will do, have you scanned for faults? It is indeed a good trick can't wait get mine working again!
vr6yan 0
Yeah i wasn't over impressed when i went to the fuel station to fill up and was saw it. I'll be on the hunt for a new tank i think and will have a look at the staps, last time i looked at them i thought they could prob do with tidying up so will see how rotten they are. Only problem is my location in the UK to get parts as being in north devon is miles away from anywhere lol.Yeah i was going to hopefully see my friend soon who's got vag-com as i'm wanting to fit cruse control to my fabia vrs so hopefully i can get the corrado scanned too.Good luck with yours and if you do find anything out it would be great to hear back and if i do get mine working i'll let you know too.
