I will take it for a run later to see how it goes... Strange. Anyone got any ideas as to what may have caused this? Damp?

six appeal 53
If its not the battery it could be the solenoid on the starter sticking! This happened to my Mk2 the other week, kept having to give it a whack, till I got around to changing it.

This happened to my Mk2 the other week' date=' kept having to give it a whack, till I got around to changing it.[/quote']But the car never had problems before, and I had been driving it only an hour before it stopped working! If the solenoid is sticking, is it expensive to change???I am going to take the car for a drive in a bit, and will see about a new battery tomorrow as I think it needs one anyway (going by the date printed on it anyway!!) six appeal 53
Starter Motor Solenoid sticking can be sorted by putting it in gear and rocking it back and forth, when it won't start/clicks, or giving the starter a whack! This should at least get you started till next time! Its pretty terminal though and usually requires a new starter motor. Lets hope its your battery mate! :?
six appeal 53
Might also be worth checking your earths on Battery and starter motor!
