VR6Pete 1,455
Hi mate, doesn't sound good that i'm afraid mate, those grrrrr sounds are the worst of them lot I wouldn't want to even run the engine until you've at least whipped the sump off and had a good inspection down the bottom end, I've never heard of a faulty lifter causing t o spin a bearing before, tell me off for teaching you to suck eggs, but have you checked the oil level? hilla 0
The oil level is 100 percent mate...
Daverse 175
Whats the oil quality like? last time it was changed? the filter too. As pete says I would drop the oil and have a look at the bottom end. Might be worth having a look at the chain tensioners too, not the stereotypical sound that chains make but you never know. VR6Pete 1,455
I'm thinking possibly oil-pump perhaps if your oil light was flashing ? Is oil getting to the top of the head ?
Daverse 175
Could well be, I have heard when oil pressure starts to drop then cylinder 1 is the first to stop getting oil, due to the way the head is angled.
