richierich37 236
Thanks for all the positive comments lads, things are moving along great now! Stews paint is marvelous and Dougie is doing some Trix under the hood! See what I did there?!?! Lol most folk change the front look with vento, mk3.5 lights etc so I though just buy a new set of Hellas and keep it looking oem!!!!!Dougie is just waiting on some wires so he can relocated the battery and washer bottle to the boot then it will be done and transported back to Stew for the build up and final lick with a soft head..........Del, hope your sewing machine is red hot, I'll be coming real soon?!?!?! richierich37 236
I usually write a few lines of rubbish but tonight I'll let the photos do the talking.......At Dubshed it's first outing it took the looooosers prize in the rotten old mk3 golf category!!!!Now all that's left to do is my full boot install and new sounds! After that it will be finished and stored away only to be used once in a blue moon!!!! A complete waste of time and money! Bealieboy 1,625
Well, how good does that look? I'd buy it from you tomorrow!!!! I'd like to have seen what other cars yours was competing against. Great build!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
richierich37 236
Yes I was "chuffed" with it finished.......one of the cleanest mk3 golfs I've seen, no rot, no welding, genuine 51k miles, a lot of time, effort and money to build it as good as I could, trying to powdercoat or paint anything that needed it to preserve it's life, renew as much as I could using quality parts etc. Now it's done, I've lost interest but still like it!The other mk3 golfs it was competing against were better and cleaner.............For you to buy it tomorrow it would need to be up for sale and tbh it's too soon to even think about selling it! Thanks for the positive comments guys Surreyvr6
Surreyvr6 199
I've always wondered what happens when mines finally finished, would I get bored of it, but they say a car is never finished lol. Sometimes I wish that it was all complete now and that I didn't have to save for bits etc but I'm sure when it's finally done that I will be wishing I was still building it lol. But I've got a lot of saving a work before I'm at that point anyway lol. Out of interest did the powder coating work out expensive? Never got any quotes or looked too much into it but have a lot of stuff that will need it in the futureSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Bealieboy 1,625
Yeah I realise it's not for sale at the mo, but if others could form an orderly que behind me please!!! As I say, great car! Well done for the prize too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk richierich37

richierich37 236
Powder coating wasn't too expensive tbh, maybe a few hundred quid in total, it was getting all the components removed and refitted that hiked the costs up! It gave me piece of mind that everything was done and not "all fur coat n Nae knickers" lol
Surreyvr6 199
Yeh right, if your gonna do anything, do it properly first time! That's not a bad price then, my gfs bro is a powder coater, keep trying to sweeten him up to chuck some of my stuff in as he is doing other orders lolSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
