paceo 22 Posted July 18, 2013 Report Share Posted July 18, 2013 i cant figure out where its coming from!i get a metal on metal knocking sound when i go over bumps in my vr6, ive checked all bolts are tight and checked for play and everything seems stiff etc...... i have replaced in the last few weeks - roll bar drop linkssuspension top rubber mountstrack rod endsboth front wheel bearingsball joints on lower arms.any ideas as its pissing me off and mot is in 4 days! :@ Link to post Share on other sites

They could be moving over much and the wishbone contacting the subframe. ive given them a wiggle with a crowbar, obviously there is a little movement but the bushes dont seem loose, i only replaced these 2 years back! Lukey. 381 Posted July 22, 2013 Report Share Posted July 22, 2013 He will mean that they can spin freely, so are they really done up tight enough so that the tapered shaft has seated enough and doesn't still spin, obviously if it isn't up enough it will have vertical up and down movement.
