ravinloonatic 0 Posted August 4, 2013 Report Share Posted August 4, 2013 Hi guys,Rite roughly 6 months ago drove my vr bout 5 miles to local shops as I was walking away noticed my car was leaking water, so after I got home over the next few weeks ripped the engine apart flushed it new water pump all new coolant plastics up rated silicone hoses, new head gasket and fresh coolant.The car did bout 50 miles then sat for three months after starting it up opened the coolant bottle and the water was thick with oil!!! Not frothy just thick oil. So I ripped engine apart expecting to see the head knackered as it was quite pitted and not in great shape but the gasket and head were fine!!! Also not a drop of water in oil just oil in coolantSo now I have a dilemma of if I just buy a recon head what happens if the block has blown? Any views or experiences on how I can find which part is blown with least cost? Link to post Share on other sites

Lukey. 381 Posted August 6, 2013 Report Share Posted August 6, 2013 I don't really like to use them particularly but when my oil cooler went I used a bottle of holts speed flush and it did a good enough job of de greasing followed by plenty of hosepipe flushing Link to post Share on other sites
