Introducing the Chilli

Hello there, just joined. Thought I'd stick a few pics up of my golf. Be interesting to see if anybody recognizes it.

How it was when I first got it. A bit dull, had mk4 style headlights in it and was sporting a not so good splitter

Put in some decent lights and fitted a VR splitter

Borrowed a set of speedlines for MOT

Gave it its first proper wash and wax at the weekend

As for future plans, they would be as follows (in no particular order)

- Tidy up the small dents and dings it has.

- Lower it a bit more - so am looking a set of coils.

- Fix the headliner as it's hanging down at the front

- Replace missing trim and/or badges

- Enjoy the awesome soundtrack of a VR engine at every possible moment (6)

I have a question is the VR splitter deeper at the lowest point than the facelift style splitter?

I Think somebody might recognize it more if you could see the REG Number.

Thanks mate! They seem quite rare. There's one guy over here in Belfast that I know of that has one. Other than that' date=' I've not seen another one

I'm not sure? But it's the same depth all around. The one I removed was higher up at the sides (if that makes sense)

Just what I assume are standard VR6 headlights. The mk4 ones were siliconed up and were impossible to set lol

That looks well mate, love the chilli red. It's cleaned up well from the first pic to the last. Good wash and polish always works wonders.

Cheers dude. Yeah I'm pretty happy with the change. It's still a few different shades of chilli red on different panels lol. But the next few changes should see it sitting better

Yea I know what you mean I have the facelift style splitter too on mine, I wanted to know if it was any deeper at the lowest point that the facelift one, so I would know if I could fit one, as my car is at the exact height that it will clear a standard kerb by millimetres

I think it is deeper unfortunately. I'll stick the 2 of them side by side during the week and will let you know for sure

Time for a small update. Modifications since last update are as follows:
- Put the standard wheels back on (proper wheels to come very soon)
- Few more hours of cleaning gone in
- Coilovers
Other than that, I've just been enjoying driving it

Have 2 or 3 more updates to come this week. Will get pics up when completed

Update time - got a decat fitted to get rid of the blowing out exhaust I had on. Also finally got round to fitting the proper rims. Had to play about with the coilovers to get the car to a drivable level. Will hopefully get round to putting decent coils in over the winter and should be able to lower it a tad more. Anyway, this is how it sits at the minute:
