steering wheel and gear knob.

any one know whats the best way or stuff to buff up wear on a leather gear knob and steering wheel? or is it just a case of buying new ones?

hate to think how much the steering wheel from vw is?mint second hand ones dont seem to turn up! i was quoted £75 plus vat for a new gear knob from vw but i see awsome gti have a copy for £35 that dont seem to bad,any one seen these or got one?what they like? maybee im just being fussy its only a little bit of wear but you all know what its like when somethings bugging you.

yeh thats the one but i think it would look better with the silver top removed and the origanal fitted?

there's usually some on ebay... should get a wheel for less than £50 and a gearknob/gaitor for about £25

you should be able to buy a connolising kit that repaints the leather, try 1 of the classic car mags they will list suppliers, have used em on seats and they work ok

cheers pete ill give that a go,i did try a satin black leather shoe dye all that done was give me black hands when ever i drove the car.
