cornishvr6 52
Trying to improve the feel of gear changes as one of the buses in the linkage is worn and was wondering if a mk4 shifter tower and cables would fit the vr box or is there any other alternatives that would fit? Thanks
ssaunders 199
Hi Mate, i am looking at the same thing, my stick has more wobble than a bowl of jelly! i have ordered a set of these, they wont be here for a week or two but when fitted i shall report.http://www.verdictmotorsports.com/VW_Audi_Shift_Bracket_Bushings_p/0100.htmcheerss
palmer 17
I believe the mounts on the boxes are different and the actual tower itself is slightly bigger, well mine is. Nothing that cant be overcome if ur handy with a grinder and welder :-) Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
cornishvr6 52
Hmm I did wonder that, looks like I might carry on saving for a CAE shifer kit, Unless I replace the bushings and opt for the Gruvenparts linkage parts to reduce throw.
palmer 17
Yea I was looking at the gruvenparts stuff for mine before I got the o2m box an shifter tower. Now im not using that either :-/ Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

craggsy 91
I put the 42draft bushes in my R32. Can tell a little bit if difference but not massively
Sean_Jaymo 11
The complete 02j linkage from a mk4 replaces the 02a linkage in mk3's. Only difference is that you need to splice in the 02j reverse light loom. Not a big job. Plenty more modding options for the 02j setup as well.
Sean_Jaymo 11
Do a search for 02j conversion on Google, there are a few threads on it. You need to mod the shifter box for polo parts. The shifter tower bolts straight in.
Big J 283
I put a b&m short shifter in mine a few years back, bushes are wearing a bit now but it did shorten the fore aft travel quite a bit. Felt weird at first but a good weird lol. Thinking of going for gruven part too which should make for a good combo I hope.
SNH 11
I'll keep an eye on this as mines like stirring porridge atm haha
