DundeeDub 0
Should my exhaust really be smoking this much??On the MFA it said it was 12 degrees, its a de-catted stainless steel 2 silencer exhaust. Not really worried, just thought would check just in case[ Edited ]
VR6Pete 1,455
If it was a cold day, i'd expect it to smoke alot, it's proably not smoke, but just condensation. mine does it when its really cold...
badboyV6 4
Mine did it shit loads with the SS exhaust when cold- nothing to worry about unless it does it when the exhaust and engine are hot......
acf8181 0
yeah, usually is condensation, and vr's are supposed to burn a bit of oil anyway. as long as your compression is ok, and you aren't using more than the specified 1L per 1000 miles i wouldn't worry tbh. DundeeDub 0
i've been a bit worried, but using next to no oil and the fumes are not wet, both engine and exhaust are warmish
acf8181 0
yeah...i don't think you got anything to worry about. it looks similar to mine tbh. only other thing worth mentioning, but what oil you using? i had a heart attack a while back when a garage put in too thin an oil....it was smoking loads, changed back to the usual and it was fine again! stu h 0
don't worry - mine does it loads when its cold (OE exhaust). as long as its kinda 'whispy', and evaropates quickly and stops when the car is warm.proper smoke is thicker and hangs in the air more. be there when warm too
macas3 0
15-40 oil or 10-30 synthetic 5-30 is for 16v engines like fords who have valve sticking probs vrs will smoke with it its way to thin like mine did and yes its condensation these things put a lot of it out
Seademon 0
Ha I get so much condenstation it steams up my back window! Quite funny really but i wouldnt worry about it - once mines warmed up its fine, doesnt seem to use much oil either.
