shail 0
You can use it on the windows if you want, e.g to remove overspray etc...

six appeal 53
What does it do and how do you use it?
stu h 0
it takes all the crap off the paint that polishing don't get rid of apparently. makes it smooth as glass, well worth a go.clay bar is like blu-tack -your lube it with the spray you get and rub it 'til its glass like. polish after and admire
stu h 0
oh, makes polishing waaaay easier too. far less effort needed when the paint is so smooth
pete8tch 0
good stuff, Tommy told me about it a few weeks ago
binliner 0
What does it do and how do you use it?It takes off all the crap that has built up on the surface of the paint... tree sap, bird poop, tar, bugs etc doesnt cut the surface of the paint like polishing does though so it wont help with scratches etcit's good shiiiiiiiiit! cliveyp 0
I hope it is! I'm starting mine tonight with any luck.........god knows when i'll finish it, but i'll probably take all weekend in the end!!
cliveyp 0
Well, 85% of the car is done! What can i say.....FANTASTIC STUFF!!! Got rid of all the tar spots from the door bottoms, and the general crap from everywhere else. Lovely and smooth now! Definately good shiiiiiit!
vdubgirl 3
Sounds quite a harsh but good product but can you use it on fresh paint????
binliner 0
it's not really harsh as long as its kept lubricated... shouldnt need to use it on fresh paint as it wont have any crap on the surface to remove
cliveyp 0
Definately not harsh. I'm amazed how it works personally, but i'd say its no where near as harsh as the likes of T-Cut o any other renovator, and yet does just as good a job (although doesn't remove scratches and swirls...) acf8181 0
this thread convinced me...i went out and bought one.gonna try in on the mkII (give it a real challenege )and the vr6 give us a quick guide on what to do mate (cant be bothered to read box!)
binliner 0
it doesnt remove scratches & swirls because it only works above the surface of the paint as opposed to polishes that deal with imperfections in the paintACF... work on a small section at a time, spray on the detailer (if you have the megs one) or soapy water then work the clay bar across the surface until it feels smooth. then wipe clean with a cloth. When the clay bar looks dirty mould or turn it to a clean bit... most important thing is keep the surface wet
binliner 0
and give the car a wax afterwards
stu h 0
and probably a good tip is to break the bar into 3/4 bits incase you drop it. took me 10 mins to drop the first bit :?
cliveyp 0
When you guys have finished with it, do yo try to wash the clay out?? Due to weather and the fact that my car was pretty bad, i've spread it over a few days (and still haven't completely finished), but i've found that the one peice has gone quite sticky and grey........is it best to wash it out or just chuck it and use another bit??
SankysVR6 1
i would have thought best to chuck it. but don't bin it as you can you use for your wheels or for the glass.
