Roger Chatfield 13
Evening fella's I'm new to VR6 ownership so please be gentle...lol When cold I'm getting a loud ticking sound from the engine, it sounds like a badly adjusted tappet but I'm lead to believe the VR6 has hydraulic tappets.Once hot (after about 10 mins) the sound disappears. Anyone shed any light on this?? BTW I've got a 95 Corrado VR6. Many thanks Rog.
Lukey. 381
Is it from the right side where the plastic shroud that the HT leads clip in?
Roger Chatfield 13
Hard to say but I think it's more the left side (looking at the engine from the front), deffo sounds like cams. Rog.

Roger Chatfield 13
Nope, last owner used it as his daily. It was serviced in February but I'm thinking maybe an oil change would be a good idea.Rog.

VR6Pete 1,455
VR6's are naturally tappet engines anyway a good oil / filter change may help mate
GordonC 20
Could possibly be the chains mate as mines was the same when I bought it. Might be worth putting a video up of it to get a better diagnosis
Roger Chatfield 13
Fairly certain its not the chains, the sound seems to come from the other end and the chains and tensioners were replaced a few thousand miles ago. Rog.
