Vr6pates 2
right guys havent had my car long and the car has been pulling to the left quite bad since had it.jacked it up the other day and noticed that the inside of the tyre on the passenger side is worn leading me to think that the tracking is out.plus when i accelerate it pulls really badly then when lef off the accelerator its not so bad Edited December 13, 2013 by Vr6pates
andymk312v 15
Definitely tracking, I ruined a pair of 914's in under 1k. The car drives completely different now.But always check for play in all points of movement before getting it done, no point taking it all apart after having it aligned. CALICO 130
Wishbone bushes may have gone soft might be worth putting some R32 or aftermarket bushes in then having 4 wheel alignment

Vr6pates 2
So my next question is where to get a rack from do i get a recon one or new
Swivelonit 119
Jack your car up and check the bottom ball joints, it is likely one is worn. I can't see it being a rack but if you do need one, these guys are really good, service exchange set up ACS Edited December 30, 2013 by Swivelonit
Vr6pates 2
Ball joints what do you mean drive shaft etc
Swivelonit 119
Ball joints what do you mean drive shaft etc No I mean ball joints. On the wheel end of the wishbone is ball joint, it fits to the bottom of the strut/hub assembly and these wear, become slack and can present the symptoms you described. Here, it is item number ten near the bottom right of the image. Edited December 30, 2013 by Swivelonit
Vr6pates 2
Oh briliant thankyou i hope its this maybe i could changevthe bottom arm bushes and the anti roll bar connections like number 17 in the picture
Swivelonit 119
chances are it will be number 10 or number 4, you can check arb bushes and brackets for play I suppose.
Vr6pates 2
Ok thanks i will try that 1st its cheaper and not a bigger job as doing the rack tbh.alot of people said to change them for r32 and tt bushes or something is this right
Swivelonit 119
TT bushes are solid rubber and are generally better, the standard bush has rubber with a few holes that you can see through so are a little softer, same diameter though so will be fine. good luck with it.
