daveyboy 897
Well thanks to abvsean ive got a 2.9 motor to start stripping down for my turbo build Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk Russvrt, bennyk and Nazza27
daveyboy 897
Well I've eventually started stripping my 2.9 lump down to reveal the head gasket was just starting to go. So the head is off now just need to strip it down and get it skimmed and put it all back together and drop it in the car Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk
Reaperx 181
Are there any benefits from swapping a 2.8 for a 2.9 if your going down the turbo route. The reason I ask is I have a 2.9 bottom end and my car I already obd1 wich from what I can gather makes it compatible with the 2.9.
daveyboy 897
Well the part numbers for the heads are exactly the same so the only difference is the cams. Well I'm still using this for my turbo build but I'm gonna put it in the car first. Then I'm gonna build the 2.8 back up and sell it on and the money I get will be going towards my turbo build Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk
daveyboy 897
Plus I hear the 2.9 bottom end is stronger weather that's true or not I'm not sure but I'm sure someone on here will tell meSent from my LT26i using Tapatalk
Reaperx 181
If I do rebuild mine I would build the block up outside the car like yourself. And fit it over winter.
daveyboy 897
Yeah its just easier out the car. I'll pull the whole lot out again when I get all my turbo parts well after ive mocked the exhaust and inlet manifolds upSent from my GT-N8010 using Tapatalk

daveyboy 897
The inlet came out better than I thought it might. I painted it body colour and gloss black. It needs flattened and polished yet but I'll do that when I get the engine in the car which will be as soon as possible Sent from my GT-N8010 using Tapatalk
