UnitedMotorsport 55
I think the MK2 is a re-incarnation of a grey/silver MK2 that we built for a local guy. It was then sold to a guy in essex, and to cut a long story short, was reshelled in essex into what I think the car pictured above. If the car is to the same spec. that we built, then the car, specifically the engine is wanting for nothing. It had a hand crafted full 3" stainless exhaust from the turbo back. 1.06 turbine GT35R turbo etc. michael5556 and VR6Pete
SteG40 5
Yeah that's the one I bought it off the guy from Essex, the car hasn't changed it's still the same spec. Do you know the full spec of the engine and what's been done to it? I didn't get a great deal of info when I got it.
UnitedMotorsport 55
The block was a 2.8 bored to 82mm with forged low compression pistons. The engine was built from the ground up with a re-polished crankshaft and brand new bearings. I believe the rods are a set chosen from a batch of stock rods and shot peened. I dont remember which clutch was fitted, I believe by the time it wrecked a few gearboxes that diesel a diesel final drive and gearset was fitted. 440cc injectors and 95mm MAF housing with matching software. Like I said earlier, a full 3" TIG Welded exhaust from the turbo back, the turbo being a 1.06 AR turbine GT35R. I believe the engine has 100% ARP hardware. Apexi AVCR fully wired in. with different boost settings per gear and 3 boost settings in total. The boost will have been capped to 1.4 bar for the safety of the engine. I cant speak for the rest of the car that you have. Out of interest - How much did you pay for this car?
SteG40 5
Nice one thanks a lot for that. I paid £5500 for it, which I thought was a good price. The rest of the car is mint no rust anywhere.
Earwig 89
Super tidy car and IMO a pretty good price ! I imagine the engine rebuild and turbo install would have been close to what you paid so you basically got a free Mk1 !
sam_vr6 4
That mk2 is pretty much exactly what I want sitting in my driveway some day soon.

SteG40 5
First slight issue with it, the clutch release bearing has failed. I thought there was a noise but i couldn't work out where it was coming from, guess I know now. Took the box off today going to put a new helix paddle clutch in it, there's not a lot left on the current on and also do a few other little jobs while it's all apart. SteG40 5
small update with this it's bent another clutch fork by the look of things, when the release bearing went last time it also did this. Seriously considering putting an 02m box on it soon.
