DundeeDub 0
I would say its not meant to be there, the bit thats highlighted is a vent from the rocker cover. The Nut/Bolt that you need to remove is called a "spline", i can't remember what size it is as i got a set of various bit for about £8, Do a serch for 'spline and tools' and you should come up with something
fabio_vr6 0
it is ment to be there, its called a flame deflector on etka, stops oil getting into the intake;[ Edited Fri May 06 2005, 06:33PM ]
antera309 3
Believe it or not, it's supposed to look like that! It's a flame trap, designed to prevent ignition of crankcase vapours in the event of a backfire.I'm sure you could re-use the one you've pulled out, but if you'd feel happier with a new one, the pat number is 035 103 477 AThe engine cover bolts are 6-point Torx type (appropriate sockets available from Halfords), but I've managed to undo them with an allen key before.Hope this helps!
