Radodb 4
right lads iv got the chance of a OBD2 2.9 corrado engine, box, loom, ecu the works and i can also get a cheap mk3 2.0 8v GTI iv got a few questions,is the obd2 2.9 good to turbo iv read up that the bottom end is not as strong as the 2.8also I'm guessing it will just be a case of plug and play with the loom into the mk3 GTI loom is this the case?? all in this will only be costing me £500 and i really think its worth it with the body work on the mk3 being very good with no real rust, in jazz blue with colour concept blue leather interior that i could sell and iv already sold the 8v engine haha.. Marneus 78
It won't be plug & play by any means. You'll also need the gearbox & all hydraulic pipes for the clutch as the 8v will be cable clutch & rod shift. Also you'll need the VR6 engine loom. I bought a VR6 rather than convert my old 8v, it's far, far cheaper.
Radodb 4
the conversion comes with everything, peddle box, hydro line, shafts, gearbox, loom, ecu, transponder, shifter cables and tower the works. its costing me £300 for the mk3 and £200 for the full conversion from a friend, i can sell the leather interior and 8v engine that itself pays for the mk3.. as it comes with everything i won't need to buy much extra if anything. my only real question with the conversion is if the 2.9 vr loom will plug into the 8v fuse box iv done 2 Vr conversions on mk2 golfs but unsure how i stand with the mk3 fuse box i carnt see it being any different to the vr fuse box
