sedge 7
Alrite guys, I want to try and talk intercoolers really to see what you all recon. Is it worth going for a branded cooler like the Forge Stuff, on thier site though it doesn't say what power they are rated too. Or theres the usual bargin bucket ebay options. But my challenge is I want to keep the small bumpers so basically I have no room at all for a cooler! I've have come down to these potential options in the links below, any advice or comments would be appreciated! Forge:http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=0013&product=fmint104uni ebay:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BLACK-2-5-UNIVERSAL-INTERCOOLER-KIT-TYPE-S-550x140x62MM-/310291253795 some other company similar to ebay i suspect:http://www.txautosport.co.uk/universal-medium-fmic-bar--plate-design-690mm-x-160mm-x-90mm-with-63mm-inlets-402-p.asp This company I havn't heard of but looks more aimed at the Jap market but it is the only small intercooler that I've seen claim to be rated at 500hp! http://www.mishimoto.co.uk/mishimoto-universal-intercooler-j-line.html

Daverse 175
Mishimoto are good. Cheap ones tend to be badly made and havr bigger boost losses Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
sedge 7
What's the engine specs? In the process of building but going to be 440cc injectors, united c2 chip, 8:1 compression plate and a turbonetics T04B turbo with a 38mm waste for now anyway.
jamesw6810 80
i had a ebay jobby on a leon cupra r at 250bhp stage 2 revo, dropped inlet temps on a warm day to around 25d and a cold day to around 18d......the larger boost losses or lag come from coolers with inlet and outlet on the same side, ideally a strait through inlet/outlet is the ideal.Bigger is not always better in this instance, imho the ebay coolers work as well as a forge etc but with the forge you pay for the customised fit, better starting materials and the after support. Ebay coolers will require a bit of fabrication to achieve a clean path for smooth airflow. Time spent on the route of the universal pipework to get a smooth flow and a decrease in lag coupled with the lesser quality of the mikalor style clamps is a disadvantage of the uni coolers also. Depending on budget id always go for the forge item for ease and aftercare.
sedge 7
I'm not aiming for crazy power to start off with but more looking to build with the intentions over engineering i guess. Dont have to be pushing the boost too high and less stress on components really.Although a friend went over to the states for christmas and brought me back a forge BOV because it was about half the price of one in this country even though its a UK product! that sort of pains me to buy anything from forge in this country now haha
