jamesw6810 80
Guys talk to me on how you get a space/adapter to fit on the rear of a mk3 with the huge locating hub part....wants to break the adapter centre off. They are 20mm so i would have thought the centre part would be ok? any ideas
Marneus 78
I've run 20mm hub centric spacers on the rear of my VR6 with no problems. Are you sure they're for a VW with a 57.1 centre bore?
jamesw6810 80
yeah mate, its ok ive ground around 5mm of the inside lip of the spacer and they fit.....little bit of mis calculation on the producers part i think.
craggsy 91
Not meant for vw then. Only 52.1 wheel bore I know of is a Volvo
VR6Pete 1,455
I had to do the same with the bbs alloys I had on my mk3Club Chairman
jamesw6810 80
What did you grind them with Pete?
andymk312v 15
I run 20mm hubcentric's with a 5mm universal behind them.Make sure they are torqued correctly and its fine. Easily done 5k like that.
jamesw6810 80
Which part of the adapter is the bit that needs filing/grinding down, the edge of the outer lip but on the inside? Can't see fully where it is catching?
jamesw6810 80
So if I'm right the inner part is 57.1 but not far enough in where it thins to the hub centric part so it would need machining to 57.1 say 5mm further in?
andymk312v 15
Yeah but it will make the lip the wheel sits on very thin.Better to modify the disc.
