Vince12v 20
Has anyone got any advice on swapping out the rear beam bushes on a mk3!?I've been told to steer clear of poly bushes, an stuck with oem spec, and does any one got any good ways of gettin the out?
Liam Potts 4
What were the reasons for being advised away from poly? Just curious I'm running them and have fitted and driven a few on the vag platformsRemoval~ I burn the rubber out then cut a small incision into the outer sleeve and fold it in on itself, just falls out of the axle then. Installation~ ensure the axle is cleaned up prior. poly are nice and easy to fit just slot in by hand with a bit of rubber grease. OE spec stuff you'll be needing to borrow the installation tool to press it in without damaging it, they're an oddball shape to be making things for Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
andymk312v 15
As above poly all the way just for ease of fitting.
GordonC 20
I would deffinitly advise using polybushes they are much easier and quicker to put in and then you know they wont ever need done again. They dont make that much of a difference to the car other than tighted up the back end but its not majorly noticable. The front however is a different story. I personally wouldnt fit polys to the front of a road going car again as it was a bit to harsh for everyday use I think.VR6 Loonibuggy Santa Pod 2014 !
Lukey. 381
I love mine on full polys its so direct and reactive
GordonC 20
Yeah it was good on full polys on a track but the roads are really bad up here and they just made it so much worseVR6 Loonibuggy Santa Pod 2014 !
sedge 7
I just poly bushed the whole golf at the weekend ( well got the front crossmember left to do) If you dont want set fire to them with the rear axel attached to the car I used various sized sockets (quite big) and a clamp to press out the metal pin through the middle of the old bush and then as said before just hack away at the last bits of rubber and sleeving. But if your going through it with a saw be careful not to hit the actualy beam too much.
Lukey. 381
I did mine with the beam still on drilling the rubber out then cutting a section out of the sleeve with a hacksaw, then the metal sleeve could crush down and pop right out. mattvr6
