After years of driving lowered cars, I'm getting a bit bored with the inablity to drive anywhere without losing a few fillings, and I'm seriously considering 'unlowering' the VR.

I don't want to revert to stock VR 'jelly' handling, so am thinking of retaining the Eibach ARB's, using Koni gas shocks but with stock VW springs.

My feeling is that this should still handle, but have a bit of comfort too.

Anyone tried this sort of thing? Any thoughts?

The only downside I can see, is it's going to make my car look like a 4x4!

Koni/Eibach and yes it's crashy and bangy and horrible.

I've been in/driven mk3anni (the big tart)'s VR on Konigsports many times, and with the crap roads round here it's really not comfortable either!

TBH, as soon as I get outside the M25, I love driving my car as the roads just seem to get better, but round here it's a nightmare!

topic related to above, i have adjustable koni suspension lowered pretty damn low (already done when i bought the car) but the ride is too bouncy and soft for me, looking for that 1960's mini cooper feel real bone cruncher!!!. can they be adjusted to be firmer or is it a shocks thing??

i have fk suspension iv not really driven any other but i like mine its only crashy at 2 mph on pot hole ridden alleys and is only a teeny tiny bit soft when u give it srious welly on a country lane all in all id give 9/10 for a pretty much perfect compromise ps i dont like to hard suspension think of all the stress/vibration your sending straight through the car/chassis makes me wince

having just put my vr6 back to standard i am actually shocked that its still handling quite well!!!

i suspect my 2 degrees of camber and poly bushes have something to do with it...but the handling isn't bad at all, ride is good...is a but numb on the limit mind, but its liveable.
