Surreyvr6 199
Tried mole grips, they just slips. Got some new bolts on order from vw so going to have get some bolt extractorsSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
damian8588 11
This may work use a socket thats slightly smaller hammerit on and then try undoing it that way use a old socket thoSent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Surreyvr6 199
There the Allen key bolts so rounded on the outside, plus there wouldn't be enough room to swing the hammer because of the petrol tank. Think bolt extractors the only optionSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Marneus 78
Have you tried in bolting both shocks & letting the axle drop down so you can get at them properly? That's what I do everytime I need to work on the rear calipers as there's just no room otherwise. If you lower the axle right down you should be able to hammer an old, slightly oversize torx bit in then undo that. Surreyvr6
Surreyvr6 199
Nice thinking, should have thought of that, simple when I think about it lolSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Lukey. 381
how about dremel a slot in the top so you can get a big flat blade screwdriver on them
Surreyvr6 199
That's what I done to snap the head off it lol. Snapped flush too, guess my only option now is a screw extractor but I'm not holding out much hope as where it's snapped it's only a little bit of good metal in the centre, outsides rusted so I'm guessing it's well jammed in thereSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Surreyvr6 199
I had to drill it and put a self tapper in there in the end, without the head of the bolt wasn't much I could do as it was booked in for mot the next day, tried a screw extractor but was too rusted in.
