My Jetta is getting hot but only if I do not have the heater on. Does anyone have any information on why this might be happening. I replaced the coolant temp sensor but it didn't seem to fix the problem.

Please be a bit more explanitory so we can try and work the problem for you mate.

Are you actually saying that the Engine temp is overheating and that when you put the heating switch on the temp drops down?

yes my fans work i have 2 10in after market fans that are set to run constantly, i have replaced the thermostat twice, ive replaced thermostat housing , leaking hoses, coolant temp valve, and it is still getting warm put yes when I turn my heat on the temp will go down and if you just keep it on then it doesn't get hot at all.

The stat itself is dead cheap and it's really easy to do it yourself just take the stat cover off on the housing under the inlet on the right hand side. You'll obviously need to replace the coolant as it will drop it all. You could do it with just a screwdriver and 5mm Allen key.
