90LF 0
hi id like to know wether you can use Passat syncro rear diff etc with a prop connected to a o2m transfer box, as im trying to weigh up my options with converting my mk2 vr6 to 4wd, I want permanent 4wd rather than half hearted 4motion, im not too competent mechanically, but some friends are. have no objections to cutting the boot floor out and putting a flat floor. would like to know what is best??? cheers Ben
Daverse 175
I dont think they are interchangeable. Use a passat gearbox, (which is transverse like the quattro setup) or chop the two props to make a hybrid. I think you will have to chop the passat prop anyway because its too long.Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
Daverse 175
But you can run haldex on permenant 4wd i think. Handles power better too.Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Allymk2 18
Hows about this then. Its someone I knows mk2 running a complete mk5 r32 rear end and O2M gear box with separate haldex controller. This is the setup I've got in my garage ready to attach to my edition 1 mk2 golf.

Allymk2 18
Yeah It's a bloody good setup, takes a bit of time and fabrication.
daveyboy 897
I can imagine. I wonder if that that would fit the mk3 well tooSent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Allymk2 18
I'm sure it would as the mk2 and mk3 are pretty similar underneath. I've got quite a few photos of the build to help me with mine.
