Is remap needed after performance cams fitted

Map it to the cams. What else will you do that will mess with the afr? Cams open and close the valves witch will create a fuel problem. If you add a flywheel or pulleys the ecu will adapt itself to it. Unless you port the head etc etc just get a cam tune and call it a day.

Hi, i mapped after 263's, went from 190-196HP, i then went back to vince @ stealth after the schrick install and he did a deal as it was still a N/A tune, got a bit off so always worth asking!

Vince also said that the VR was running lean with the Schrick, as you know this can kill engines so best to get a tune.

Fit a schrick manifold.

 

Im running schrick 268's in mine with no map. The additional air is metered via the MAF which sorts out the fuelling.

 

If youre planning on sticking a schrick manifold on it then the combination of the two plus the other supporting mods such as filter, 6 branch decat back system etc would be helped by a map adjustment. 

 

But personally i can think of better ways of spending £500 on the car for a negligible gain.
