Vince12v 20
Hi chaps, I've got that dreaded job comin up, now I've done the on my corrado, but had the beam off!Is that the best way to do on the mk3?
D11PS 146
I've done these on my mk3.. Beam off is the easiest way to tackle this job I'm afraid. It gave me the chance to give the old beam a lick of paint. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lukey. 381
It's not too difficult to do it with the beam on, but you do need ideally a couple of jacks, some axle stands and I found it helpful that I had plenty of various sized logs lol
Vince12v 20
Logs?? That's different, where are the brake lines mounted? On the corrado they were on the beam
Lukey. 381
They are hoses from the body to the beam so give a bit of le way and you can just un fasten the handbrake cable
Lukey. 381
I'm talking big sections of tree trunk, they were ideal for laying and supporting the beam on

Vince12v 20
I think the inside of the bush will drop out, it's just the metal collar gonna have hassle with

CALICO 130
you can release the brake pipes from the axle they just clip in. As above just punch the outside of the metal inwards and it will all fold in then bash it out in one go. D11PS
Vince12v 20
Think I'll give it smash tonight, how long should I set aside to do iy
D11PS 146
It depends it took me a fair few hours to do but I gave up half way as I couldn't Battle seized Bolts anymore. I would recommend to spray them up with penetrating fluid if you can Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
CALICO 130
I did it twice once on mine once on my mates his took longer but I didn't have any problems with bolts on either we took the axle off completely on his think I did one side at a time on mine. 3 hours should be enough

Lukey. 381
A hacksaw with a very high body is useful too, take the blade out, thread the blade through the bush casing, turn it round so it faces into the saw and you can saw through it, makes it easy to chisel the case inwards to pop it out. Vince12v 20
If I remove the beam, will it mean disconnecting brake lines

D11PS 146
Always the way..once I smacked 9 bells out of the sleeve I lightly sanded any surface rust, added the Copper grease and it just slid right it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk VR6Pete
Vince12v 20
Much performance increase with the poly bush?
D11PS 146
It made it a tighter and firmer ride.. People have said it made the ride too harsh but I suppose it depends on the setup you have. I noticed the difference straight away and I liked it. It's down to each individual.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk damian8588
Vince12v 20
I think my bushes are shagged so I think I'll notice any difference from what I got! D11PS
