vdub_pete 15
Anybody got any recommendations of some good engine assembly lube??
Daverse 175
Ive heard only gpod things about joe gibbs assembly grease. It dissolves in the oil, and i will be using it when i build mineSent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
abvsean 32
i just used plenty of engine oil and when doing cams n bearings i used some Kent cams lube, was like syrup
Big J 283
I build truck engines regularly and all the years I've been in this game I swear by plenty if new fresh engine oil. Worked for the guys that trained me, and the guys that trained them etc etc. really don't see the point in all this fancy expensive stuff
Daverse 175
Was considering using just engine oil, but it will be a while before my engine gets fired up so don't want it drying outSent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
Big J 283
Just leave the coil pack pack unplugged and crank it over a few times to pump it round before it fires
FRANK VR6 2
When I use to build engines that I know was going to be spare exchange units in South Africa I used Wynns super charge.it is nice thick stuff looks like syrup and disolves into the engine oil.really good stuff.Sent from my GT-I8160 using Tapatalk
Big J 283
You could build it with brown sauce for South Africa and they'd still run it lol! God, some of the export trucks I've seen going over there are just unbelievable
FRANK VR6 2
Yep they would run them out here with anything.but when its a fully build merc V8, international straight 6 or big John Deere engine I would like to think that ive tried my best with the whole lot! Other wiae you have to take the whole lot out again and do it over again!Sent from my GT-I8160 using Tapatalk
Big J 283
Exactly, if it's standing in a container for months on end then I see your point. Mine are usually running down the motorway with a week or so from start to finish, but just like you frank, I take pride in it, and enjoy doing it right
