vdub_pete 15
Having issues installing new piston rings anyone got any hints and tips?I broke the 2nd ring on one piston installing it and I managed to get the rest in all good but then realised I'd stupidly put the pistons in the wrong way around and they needed turning 180 deg so I pulled them back out and the oil scraper rings on 2 broke. But I don't know if I broke them removing them or installing them. Made this to put them in Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
FRANK VR6 2
I put the pistons in untill the ring touches the block and the with a small flat screwdriver feed the rings into the block.it takes some time but I feel that works berst for me.if ypu dont want tho use a screwdriver take a bit of hard plastic.hope this helps. vdub_pete 15
Cheers for that I can't believe I'm saying this but I had more luck doing it that way and using a lighter, plenty of lube and easing the rings in like a gentlemen seamed to work for me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk VR6Pete
