Phatvalver 2
Hi, My mk3 vr started to missfire 2 days ago when travelling on motorway at around 70mph.It missed every 10 seconds then progressivly got worse!!Seems now when lower geared its worse and with no true pattern!!I have changed the coilpack for a spare, the leads and plugs are not even 200 miles old and they are the decent ones ;-) Ive compression tested the engine to rule out cylinder failure!!When cold its fine untill the car warms up then it starts to miss! On idle it ticks over well..Anybody with any suggestions or experience please please help..... This car is meant to be going to belgium friday evening :-( Many thanks in advance guys! Phatvalver 2
Hi mate, changed camshaft sensor its on the end of head above coilpack. Do you mean crankshaft?Brand new coilpack, leads plugs...... Tested everything for readings! Atm its behaving after removing battery power for 15 mins!! Can anybody believe this? Did it store a fault and loose it when power removed?? Seems odd but i spent 2 days solid trying to sort it and that seems to have sorted it so far..Will b back to let you know. Bealieboy 1,625
I've heard of ford duratec engines having this happen, in fact it's recommended after changing leads and or coil pack due to misfire to disconnect the battery for a while.
