scruffy 0
would like to know what problems I might encounter changing rear discs, have heard that after changing abs rotors/sensor there can be problems due to abs rotor not being aligned up and it switches off abs? I am thinking about drilled and grooved, with green stuff, any ideas or suppliers, JBD
Guest odzVR6
Should be pretty straight forward, you dont need to touch the abs sensors, just have to put the abs rotor onto the new discs (make sure its clean and fits well). Get yourself a caliper piston rewind tool to allow enough room for those new chunky pads. It would also be a good time to do the rear wheel bearings if they are a bit noisy. If the rear brakes havnt been done for a while the mounting bolts might be a pain, I did my rear axle bushes a couple of months ago, and ended up angle grinding the allen head caliper mounting bolts off while the whole rear axle was on the bench, on refitting I used proper bolts (ie. not allen head). I got a new set of drilled/grooved rear discs for

SankysVR6 1
Scruffy,I would definatley change both rear wheel bearings at the same time as they dont cost much and it will save you time on getting the old ones out. As for the ABS ring it might be just as easy to put new ones on if you can afford them as they are not much,
