apd 0 Posted March 26, 2004 Report Share Posted March 26, 2004 any cracks/leaks-coilpack is shagged,tryed silicone sealing and supergluing plug seats-ok for awhile,but then back to square 1.new coilpack from GSF 137 QUID.solved that soft/faint misfire{spark arcing}. Have read about dodgy coil packs so will try first to see if it is. Can get it looked at by proffessionals but am strapped for cash at the moment. Link to post Share on other sites

It seems that they damage quite easily when missfiring, get it looked at sharpish before u've to buy a dustpan & brush to sweep the bits up when it goes BANG! Link to post Share on other sites

apd 0 Posted March 27, 2004 Report Share Posted March 27, 2004 bit of friendly advice:have a good look at each plug lead for cuts tears[20quid each from dealer].then take off plug leads with plug still attached.get a mate to crank engine-any arcing? should be nice blue spark.if everything ok this points to coil pack,once damp/moisture gets in through cracks unit shagged.got my old one you could try.silicone sealed ,where u at? Beware some performance leads are thicker and the channels the leads slot into need to have the securing lugs filed out. Link to post Share on other sites

I did not fancy taking the lugs off as i worried about them being secure and also the fact of not being able to go back to standard thickness leads if i wanted to. Link to post Share on other sites
