Big J 283
18s will truely kill any handling you've got already, they don't feel nice on a 3rd gen golf, but that's my personal opinion. I ran a set of bmw bbs on mine with adapters a fair few years ago, it looked the nuts, but a noticeable negative impact on handling and driving feel while using the adapters, and they were proper h&r jobbies. I always said I wouldn't do Adapters again because it felt so "slack", but like I said, it look pretty dam good
dom.joy 87
I used adapters previously and didnt really notice any difference if I'm honest. These were on 16's though.I would say 18's will be too big and the tyres will be very low profile and give bad ride quality.
daveyboy 897
I agree with above on ride quality with 18's. I like turbo twists tho especially 3 piece. I know the PCD adapters need to be 5x100 to 5x130 (5x100 is the vw PCD and 5x130 is the porsche)
oettingerA4 4
I have 18" on now, and don't think it's too bad..... 17" under boost is just not a option

oettingerA4 4
That's a sneaky forum way of saying "I can go faster than you" Not all, I know I'm fast ;-)...but, seriously torque steer is horrible with 17" + 18" it just fills the mk3.5 arches so much better. bennyk 1,238
Nothing wrong with torque steer! In fact after selling my near 300bhp vauxhall astra I'm missing it a bit! Great fun Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Big J 283
Don't get me wrong mate, that wasn't a dig at all, I can see your point having 18s on with boost, it's a lot for 2 front tyres to put down.Nothing wrong with torque steer! In fact after selling my near 300bhp vauxhall astra I'm missing it a bit! Great fun Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkDon't suffer torque steer in my mk6 R, but it does bring out the child in me when I get back the old VR (forgive me, for I am now simply stirring the pot ) Edited November 22, 2014 by Big J
michael5556 247
17's under boost is fine lol and yes 18's is a bit it and won't handle as much.
