TVR6 0
Your advice and advice greatly appreciated on this I've been doing the usual research and have AMD advising to go the Koni TAs with Eibach sprngs and Stealth with the H&R springs. Both claim their recommendation of sprimgs is the more comfortable. Then there's the dillema of Coilovers with FK being the hot favourites right now. Questions:Which is the best all round set-up for handling and comfort? Are the FK Konigs softer with the adjusment or would the fixed rate be about the same? (I don;t thrash it too much and require reasonable comfort)Your guidance much appreciated...
Slim 0
It all depends on what you're after really, if you want to be able to dictate the exact height you want your car to sit at, then you want coilovers. The FK konigs have Koni TA inserts to adjust the comfort to your liking, I have a set and they're spot on.In terms of handling, the biggest improvement will come from fitting Eibach or Neuspeed anti-roll bars. TVR6 0
Thanks Slim. I don't take it to the edge so don't need the 'best' handling package. I guess what I want to know is, would the Konigsports be any more comfortable with than the standard FK coilies? I understand that with some manufacturers you can get them slightly softer than the fixed rate kit and with others it's the same or stiffer. Ooo-err
Brianvr 0
so what is the best anti-roll bar kit to go for,as may look to change these first rather than fit shocks and springs.
K9ANY 0
Ive just bought a vr6 with the koni suspension kit with the koni springs and eibach anti roll bar kit fitted by AmD. The ride is very hard even on soft setting but i think thats due to the koni springs...eibach would be better...however the roll bars are sweet....very flat round the corners now...however the car does pull to the left....will have to get that checked out.I'm going down the coilover route as I intend to get some 16*9's so the konis will be for sale soon. Brianvr 0
anyone know which is best antirollbar kit to go for
Joe M 0
Eibachs, you can just fit and forget. With nuespeeds the rear rose joints would need lubing regularly.
sijo 0
I've jst had fitted a SPAX RSX kit with powerflew bushes all round. The ride can be a little harsh when she's dropped and tightened, but really nice with just a few cm's drop. I have not fitted the anti roll bar kit yet, as I can't fault the current setup . . Hope this helps.
ripstop 0
I do alot of hispeed commuting with some slow town and country stuff. I didn't want to change things that much or drop it too much. I changed to Koni's cos thats all I really had experience of and droped it about 25mm. I didn't change the springs but bought new VW ones as the others were a little tired. The setting though is on softest (i am a big softy) otherwise I found it too hard. The other thing you must do apart from optional rollbars is to get the front engine mount sorted. The weight transfer at the front in and out of corners with the std mount is terrible, Felt like you were throwing a tanker truck round a race track! All that amounts to a mild supsension tune but makes it much more enjoyable to drive. I didn't use coilovers as still using std wheels.
