Etienne 0
Hi guys, I'm new to this forum. I'm busy rebuilding the 24v v6 (ayl) from my Sharan. When I dropped the oil pan I found a part in there that I have no clue as to where it belongs-please see the attached photos. The reason for the rebuild is that the compression on 3 of the cylinders were extremely low(400kpa) this is the rear 3 cylinders(1,3and5). Might anyone have an idea where this fits? It seems like some oil return valve or non return as it has a ball bearing at the back which I can compress. Your help will be much appreciated.
ibs 308
It looks like a locating pin for the one of the chain guide rails. But I could be wrong.

Etienne 0
Thanx for the replies. Removed the crankshaft and all the oil jets are in place, doesn't seem like the crankshaft was removed previously either. #confusedSent from my iPad using Tapatalk
