Bealieboy 1,625
I don't do kerbs mate. Lol. I'd sooner someone take my mirror off parking wide. Haha. Yeah send us some pics when you get a minute. Shit man. 215/35 and 10 j on the rears. What you gonna do there if your rubbing on the rears at present? You'll need a jack up kit on it. LolPut some bits of wood in instead of shocks and springs! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Big J 283
Cabbs youl be fine with 195 on those rotas, like I said, 195 on 8j can be done, like bealie has with his, but personally I wouldn't do it because the rim is so vulnerable. I've got a mate who had 9j x 19 toureg wheels on his mk5 jetta, running a 215 tyre. That is a similar stretch to bealie and it seriously was a stretch. Looked the part tho.In another note, there's no spacers in my tt comps, an the outer lip of the rim is just flush with the front arch. If I can I'll get a picture before I go to work
Big J 283
That's a 195/45r17 on tt comps And this is why I have to be really careful with stretched tyres because my drive would kill a rim without even thinking about it VR6CABBS
VR6CABBS 1,311
Strange really as this is mine running comps with 205/40's and it's totally clear on the front mate. Cheers for all your help pal. Bet you was shivering you nuts off taking them this morning. Haha. I owe you one pal.
Big J 283
Well I used to run 205 on mine but the 195 helped it to go down a bit further lol. I did drive better on 205 tho for sure, you could stick it in a bend harder than with 195s
VR6CABBS 1,311
True mate. That little bit of extra rubber goes along way. Lol. Ermmmmm do you think I'd get away with 205's on them rota's? Rimstyle have sent me an email this morning saying there not prepared to stretch 195's over the rims and risk damaging them. LolThey will however send out the 195's with the wheels but will take no responsibility for incorrect tyres fitted. Hahahahah. Big J 283
From doing some quick mental maths, youl be laughing all the way with 205 on the rotas, final offset of et38 puts you 5mm further under the arch than the TT comps. If you've got anymore than 5mm spare between the inside of the comp and the suspension you won't have a problem. That said a 15mm spacer would put the rota in exactly the same position as what you've already got (et33).I say go for it. Rimstyle are pretty good they've included the 10mm spacer knowing it should be fine. Are you on coilovers? You'd get the front lower on the rotas than the comps I rekon. Nice amount of stretch there.Cabbs, you can see from beals stretch, his rims are not near as vulnerable as what mine are but it looks the part, and he's got a nice amount of sidewall on the tyres to be safe.I'm gonna have this ball ache in the spring getting those RH's on mine! Hey they don't look to bad for width seeing your rears are 10J. Camber needs sorting at the front aswell mate unless your on uneven ground. I like them mate.
Bealieboy 1,625
Yeah, im chuffed with them, even don't mind the Wolfsburg badge now. I'm going to have to get coilovers fitted and then get the geometry set. I'll probably get those eibach shims for the rear too, then new discs, pads etc, etc etc. Still once the mondy is sold I'll have plenty of dollar for upcoming expenditure! I'll know more next week when my wheels come.
