Dcp1 0
I was told around 2.5 hours labour is this about right?
VR6Pete 1,455
I was told around 2.5 hours labour is this about right? If the engine was out of the car on a stand maybe. It's a big job and you are looking at around 8 hours labour. Bealieboy
Big J 283
Chains are a straight forward job, once you get to them. 2.5 hrs is way off the mark unless on a stand as Pete says. It's a while since I've done any but your looking at nearly 2 hrs to get the gearbox out, factoring in brew stops and stress fags. daveyboy and D11PS
craggsy 91
Drive in drive out time would be about 8 hrs I'd say as well. 2.5hrs about right if box off and engine out already
Dcp1 0
Ok cheers all suppose it has to be done the rado has 202k
chazrad 16
Its worth doing the clutch whilst your there, so factor the cost of a new one in at the same time.
Dcp1 0
I can get the timing chain kit from Ecp for around £165 all in and 8hrs labour at £30 p/h plus clutch so not a cheap job then!
Big J 283
If you can get labour at £30 an hour your doing well! Labour rates across the board average around £65 nowadays. Definitely put a clutch in it whilst your at it.
