Ahmed Saleh 11
I bought Original BBS 16" with tires 205/55 R16 - 91V . The question here Is the tire size will affect the performance of the car or will rub in the fender

Ahmed Saleh 11
Mmm. Can't understand, that will be good or bad 16" 205/55 Bealieboy
Bealieboy 1,625
If you are changing the wheels you will have to decrease the profile of the tyre for the bigger wheel. For example, standard size for a gti is 205/50/15, if you change to 16 inch, then 205/45/16 tyre and for 17 inch, 205/40/17 tyre. By decreasing the tyre profile (the middle number) it will make the same distance covered for one complete turn of the road wheel regardless of 16 or 17 inches diameter. Ahmed Saleh 11
U know why i selected this size of tyre 205/55 not/45 or 40 coz the roads in my area aren't good. I try to increase the tyre sickness to felt comfort inside the car.
Bealieboy 1,625
It's a good idea to improve comfort, it just means your indicated speed will be wrong. Better to have bigger tyres than to ruin the wheels. I don't think the wheels you've chosen will rub. Ahmed Saleh

May be i'll change the size to 205/45 when i get my coilovers kit
CALICO 130
Your speedo will be registering 70 when our actually travelling at around 65 But it also affects miles travelled by the same amount. adding 500 miles onto your mileage after 6500 miles. jamesmcclory 4
I have the similar wheels, no issues on 205.40 Toyo and 195.45 Hankook currently on the car. Did your ones come from a mk4? Think they are not as wide as the mk3 anniversary wheels. You might want spacers then as they sit quite tucked into the arch. The 45 profiles didn't make much difference but look neater imo. Hope this is some help, James Ahmed Saleh
