VR6CABBS 1,311
Evening you VR nuts... I fitted a jetex decat on my car last week with no issues.Fired her up and she was spot on. No leaks. Took her for a run. All was good. A nice note coming from the exhaust. This weeks a different matter though. On start-up she is misfiring her tits off. Sounds like she's running on three. After a short while it clears and she's ok. Had it on vag-com and shows no faults or issues. I'm wondering if the lambada sensor cant take it on start up?? If I add a Lambada spacer do any of you guys think this will cure it? Bealieboy
Mk3highline 287
Lambda don't work/used till engine come up to temp?Scrap car and start again Bealieboy and mistline
Bealieboy 1,625
Oh right! It runs closed loop till up to temp then runs off the sensors. What can cause a misfire on cold map then? Coil pack or leads maybe?
Mk3highline 287
I'm guessing here First thing in the morning before you start the car check outside temp and compare it to the temp on the coolant and inlet air temp sensor via vagcomm Check spark plugs leads and coil pack as already said
Mk3highline 287
To see if coolant temp sensor is ok
VR6CABBS 1,311
Coil packs were all new when I got it. Magnacor leads new aswell. Nothing comes up when plugged in. Kept in heated garage at work. Only happened since I changed to decat. My pal said to use a lambada spacer as the sensor is to far in the decat hence all the fumes on start up. I've ordered one anyway. Let's hope it does the trick. Bealieboy
Bealieboy 1,625
I hope that cures it cabbs. Sometimes that blue temp sensor goes tits up though, it surely wouldn't with such a low Mike car though! Edited February 7, 2015 by Bealieboy

Mk3highline 287
I'm thinking of a decat but I'm wanting to get it quieter from the exhaust sideI got a scorpion cat back with 2 boxes

My magnex and decat is pretty reasonable at 70mph
Mk3highline 287
Mine is quiet at 70mph just little road noiseIt's at 50mph I got a drone which bugs me in my old age Bealieboy

Have you tried changing gear earlier/ later or turning the sound system up? All jokes aside, I don't think a decat will make that much difference to your hearing. You do get a nice burble on lift off with a decat though.
Mk3highline 287
I was going to go nuts on the stereo side but going 24v seemed quicker lolWill see if I can get a silenced decat made Cheers What I did do once was stuff a tea towel in one of the tail pipes which made it quiet but popped out lol Bealieboy
