Golfvr6mk3 6 Posted February 12, 2015 Report Share Posted February 12, 2015 New to the site I recently purchased a vr6 golf with obd2 engineBought it with fault Person who sold it to me said he thinks it was the starter motorBut after putting it on vag com not so sureRite here,s the problemGet in the car put the key in the ignition turn the key lights come on turn the key further to start and nothing not even a click.Put a piece of wire from battery straight to the starter motor single plug and it will start or bump start will do itOn vag com it's coming up with the code 11798 I think some thing about immobiliser Any idea,s Link to post Share on other sites

You could probably get a new ecu and a set of keys from a breakers on eBay etc. Pretty sure that would sort it, it a bit of a hassle. Not sure if vagcom can isolate/bypass the immobilser.
