Swivelonit 119
I have a question about weight reduction. Those of you that frequent the strip will know all too well that weight is an unnecessary evil, what have you done to remove as much of it as possible? I have a 4 motion MK4 and it is a heavy beast, even after stripping loads of things out of it, what else that is necessary can I remove from the car? I don't run it on the strip, I use it on the track.
Ickyketseddie 89
Is it a road car too? Do you have a cage? I've cut the door skins out, removed everything pretty much that's not a drivers seat, removed all the sound deadending (fun job) and gone lexan windows. Cutting the spare wheel well out and replacing with a ally sheet is supposed to be good for 20kg too which is on my to do list. Depends how far you want to go with it. Obviously you can always look at carbon parts too. HTH The Duke
Swivelonit 119
Not a road car no and no cage yet, this is something I have to get done.I have everything out, sound deadening, door skins and roof lining etc, small exhaust instead of the huge back box, I will keep nibbling away at bits and pieces. Ickyketseddie 89
Can cut the Inner bumper irons down, cut the rear doors (if it has them) and tailgate down to no more than a skin and fasten them with dzus fasteners or similar? Obviously a cage will help keep things rigid with everything else removed.
