c00k 435
It's meant to have an afterrun as standard. The fans are meant to run up to a max of 10mins after the key has been removed. But only if your engine exceeds a certain temperature when switched off. If you listen carefully you will also hear your 2nd auxiliary water pump running as well. If your having battery issues, check the batter 1st, use an electric multimeter, should be roughly 11.8 - 12v when engine is off. And 14.2-14.4v with the engine running and the alternator moving. If your not getting these figures, it could be a few thing....Dodgy battery. Damaged ground wires, check gearbox ground, engine ground, battery ground. Visually check the whole wire for breaks and splits , also feel and squash the wire to check for internal damage. Check the battery ground connection to the chassis, underneath the battery tray, as these have a tendency to rust and corrode. If all of these wires and all the connection points are fine, check the alternator, again use an electric multimeter, put the positive probe on the main larger wire connection on the rear of alternator, and then the negative probe on a ground point. This should give 14.4v when the engine running, if your getting below this your alternator is not running correctly. And either needs replacing or re-building.
